BridgES

Are you a Permanent Resident, 17-25 years of age, looking to take grade 11 or 12 English and/or Math?

The BridgES program will give you intensive language support to help you attain your High School/Mature Student Diploma or upgrade your 'E' credits in English and/or Math to 'S' credits so you can apply for university or college.  The schedule is:

  • MORNING: Mon & Wed 9:00 am - 12:00 pm English Comprehensive 30S/40S WITH CHILDCARE (950 Jefferson) STARTS SECOND MONDAY IN SEPTEMBER
  • MORNING: Tues & Thurs 9:00 am - 12:00 pm Essential Math 30S/40S WITH CHILDCARE (950 Jefferson) STARTS SECOND TUESDAY IN SEPTEMBER
  • EVENING: Tuesday & Thursday 5:30-8:30 pm English Comprehensive 30S/40S (950 Jefferson) STARTS SECOND TUESDAY IN SEPTEMBER

The classes have only 15 students with two teachers; one for academics and one for ESL support.  While taking these classes, you can also attend your home high school, take high school courses at our Adult Learning Centre, or work part-time.

If you need more time to complete your courses, you can continue over two or more semesters.  In addition, you will be tested by the Winnipeg English Language Assessment Referral Centre (WELARC) and get an assessment in the four skill areas (Listening, Speaking, Reading & Writing) so you can qualify for a LINC certificate with improved Canadian Language Benchmarks.

If you are a Permanent Resident, 17-25 years of age, the BridgES program can help you find success in the Canadian school system, transition from secondary to post-secondary education or pursue meaningful employment opportunities!
